Comparison of wave measurements with SWAN model numerical
simulations. The results obtained in our experiments can be compared
with the SWAN model (Ris et al., 1999) numerical simulations. Thus, the
estimations were fulfilled using a numerical grid with the 400 m step and
covering a coastal area with 10 km width and 20 km length.
Results of numerical simulations are shown in Figs. 6.30 and 6.31. The
data analysis allows drawing the following conclusions.
The wave height discrepancies between measurements and numerical simulations make up on average 4 per cent (from 1 per cent to 8 per cent) in the
areas, where the bottom slope is 0.06.
