Patrol hydrography to extend t he OWS BRAVO record back beyond 1945,
Hallberg, Lazier and Rhines, pers. comm. have compiled a discontinuous
record of annual e - S characteristics for LSW back to 1928. Though
it occurred at a higher base-temperature and salinity t han today [t hese
were t he years when a considerable wave of warming and salinification was
