Treatment Plants for Phosphorus Removal from Wastewater
Fig 10.19 Plant for simultaneous precipitation. The precipitation chemical is ferrous sulphate.
Soholt treatment plant (Silkeborg, Denmark). Simultaneous precipitation is the most
commonly used treatment method for phosphorus. An attempt has been made to reduce
noise, smell and aerosol problems by silencing the motor (to the left of the bridge), by
incorporating the rotor in a concrete case and by providing it with skirts to catch
aerosols. The bottom picture shows the storage tank for ferrous sulphate.
