These submerged shorelines characterized by the presence of a wave-cut terrace
at depths between − 80 to − 100 m are key elements in supporting a recent low level
of the Black Sea. The analysis of the very high-resolution seismic data in pseudo3D
mode (Lericolais et al. 2009) demonstrates that this shelf deposits form an important
