occurred regularly in the I05N samples. T. tricuspidata was present in 509 of the 1231
samples examined, but adults of this species were present in only 46 samples. T. monacantha was present in 441 samples, though adults were found in only 32.
Thysanopoda obtusifrons occupies the zone of 0°-30°5. The scattered records are
based mainly on larval specimens.

The following are relatively deep-living species, the north-south ranges of which are
based on the midwater trawl sampling by "Anton Bruun" along 60° E and 65° E:
Thysanopoda pectinata, 10° N - 41 ° 5;
Thysanopoda orientalis (possibly including T. microphthalma) 10° N -45° S;
Thysanopoda cristata, 0° -30° S;
Thysanopoda spinicaudata, only found at 13°36'N, 65°03'E in the Arabian Sea;
Thysanopoda cornuta, 12 ° N -45° 5;
