The nature and the states of soils surface: percentage of vegetation at 0 level
(necks, trunc bases); fine land with or without a fine layer; litter; fine gravels;
gravels; stones; free blocs; crusts outcrops; cuirasses outcrops or hard rock base;
deflation and accumulation zones; ...
Monitoring of meteorological and climatological parameters:
- Rainfalls (daily),
Sunshine (daily total radiations),
Maximal and minimal temperatures,
Winds (speed and direction/day),
Maximal atmospherical humidity (daily),
Soil temperature (horizon 0 to 30 cm),
Exceptional atmospherical events (sandy winds, tornadoes ... ),
Vegetation fires (nature, intensity, affected vegetal systems, ... ).
Monitoring of edaphic and resources in soils parameters:
- Depth of movable soil profile judged exploitable by vegetal sub-soil systems (at
least 90% of sub-soil systems), capable of assuring the safeguard of the useful
hydric reserve for the growth of the dominant vegetations at different stratums;
Global texture and fine texture of movable soil profile horizons;
Hydric and trophical assessments (fertility) of substrates: useful hydric
availability for vegetal growth; rates of organic matter, carbon nitrogen, K20,
P205; capacity of exchange and cationical composition;
Characteristical parameters of the edaphical disfunctionings: percentage of the
surface ifluenced by aeolian deflation, aeolian deposits (nebkas, barkanes,
massive dunes); levels of saltness; blocking; encrusting;
Stocks of viable grains of soil superficial horizons (namely for species considered
more useful function to pastoral or forest uses, or to ensure the rehabilitation of
the ecosystems).
Monitoring of water resources
NB: In the preliminary stage, a particular attention will have to be brought on
to the nature and origin of the resources in waters, and on to the characterization of
surface circulations (cf. Streaming networks of rain waters).
The monitoring addresses the following:
- The hydric regime of rivers and oueds (flow, swellings);
- The thin plate of streamed water, and the rain infiltrated into soil;
- Data collection of the following uses: agricultural (irrigation, waterings, run-off
farming); domestical (watering of cattle, family consumption, handicrafts, small
industry and commerce.
Monitoring of the vegetation and of the vegetal resources
- Species structure of the forms of vegetation; key species per stratum of
vegetation; phenology and biological characteristics of the key-species;
