2. with a type B circulation pattern (partially mixed), better conditions for suspended
sediments transport are developed and the formation of a maximum turbidity is
promoted;
3. with a type C circulation pattern (homogeneity), suspended sediments remain
trapped in the Rio de la Plata.
Ayup (1987) stated that suspended sediment behaviour and morphology along the
Rio de la Plata northern coast allows active transport to the Uruguayan and southern-Brazilian continental shelf.
