According to Ayup (1986a,b), outer Rio de la Plata does not have an homogeneous
circulation pattern, with very important lateral differences associated with suspended
sediments behaviour. He concludes that:
1. with a type A circulation pattern (stratified), suspended sediments are carried by
freshwater, favouring sediment dispersion, meanwhile processes acting down the
halo cline (flocculation and aggregation) favours deposition;
