"Element" is apart ofthe road's centreline that serves as the angular reference for

The linear reference systems are an extension to the Coordinate Reference Systems standardised in the ISO 19111.
In order to deal with address-type positions the ISO 19133 describes an address
model. Currently there is not an applicable international address standard, and address formats vary from country to country and from culture to culture. According to
the ISO 11180: 1993 (Postal addressing) addresses are made up of a sequence of text
elements with well-known semantic content. Table 3.9 lists the elements provided by
ISO 19133 to specify an address.

Navigational computation is based on an underlying network. The network comprises the following elements:
• The nodes represent important points in the network, such as intersections.
• The links represent uninterrupted paths between nodes with an orientation that indicates which direction the link is to be traversed.
• The turns associate anode to an entry link and exit link to anode.
• The stops consist of either nodes or positions on links within the network. The
start and the end ofthe route are a type ofstop.
