Neolissochilus hexagonolepis McClelland 1839
Common name: Katli, copper mahseer,
chocolate mahseer.
Distribution: Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia (Peninsular), China, Indonesia (Arunachalam,
2010).
Habitat: Streams with fast-flowing
water mostly in high-gradient and lowgradient riffles and pools.
Description: Males of this species have
greater head width at operculum, snout
length, predorsal length, and preanal
length than the females. On the other
hand, the females have greater body
depth at dorsal fin insertion, pectoral
fin length, anal fin height, and ventral
fin height than the males. Among all
the dissimilar characteristics, the height
of the anal fin is found significantly
lower in males than in females. Snout
length is the second most significantly
different characteristic and is higher
in males than in females. It grows to a
maximum length of 120 cm and 11 kg
(Laskar et al., 2013; Luna, 1988n).
Raiamas guttatus Day 1870
Common name: Burmese trout.
Distribution: Northeastern India (Nagaland), Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malay Peninsula, and China
(Vishwa nath, 2010).
Habitat: Shady areas and muddy  bottoms in deep hill streams.
Description: This species has a singlerayed dorsal fin and cycloid scales. Both
the jaws are toothless, and teeth are seen
only in the throat. The distinguishing
feature of this species is the presence of
two rows of blue spots along its sides.
It grows to a maximum length of only
30  cm, and its diet consists of insects
and small fishes (ETYFish Project).
