Order: Decapoda
Family: Palaemonidae
Common name: River prawn.
Distribution: East Africa, Madagascar,
Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh
(De Grave et al., 2013c).
Habitat: Rivers and lakes.
Description: In this species, the second
legs are covered by a very fine granulation that is often hidden beneath
the pubescence. Both fingers have the
cutting edge lined on either side by a
row of tubercles that are often sharply
pointed. The hepatic spine is very
slightly lower than the antennal spine
(Johnson, 1973).
