Common name: Goda river prawn.
Distribution: Eastern Africa, Madagascar, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka,
and Sumatra (De Grave et al., 2013b).
Habitat: Fresh and brackish water of
larger rivers and streams.
Description: This species has a massive rostrum of medium length and
very developed claws, which are much
more slender in males. The coloration
background is more or less dark brown.
A  lighter dorsal line goes all the way
from the rostrum to the telson. A half
circle–shaped cream-colored line with
black-brown marks the third segment of
the abdomen. The legs and claws can
show a slight blue shade. The external
edges of the uropods are underlined
with a cream-colored line. This species
is omnivorous. The male measure 12 cm,
the female 6–7 cm (Crusta-Fauna).
