15.4.2 Experimental Results and Analysis
According to the characteristics of acoustic wave propagation path of tank bottom
corrosion, the corrosion AE signal was collected by placing sensors at three locations
of tank outer wall, steel pipe wall and tank water. From Figs. 15.9, 15.10 and 15.11,
the total history diagram of AE signal amplitude of channel 1 (representing 6 channels
on tank outer wall), channel 8 and channel 9 collected during the 12 h monitoring
process. Corrosion process of 12 h can be divided into three stages, initial stage,
accelerated stage and stable stage. Signal amplitude is low, the main distribution
range is 30–40 dB, and the impact number of AE signal is less during initial stage.
