Solution combustion synthesized HAp powders calcined at 600 and 900 °C exhibited crystallinity of 67 and 82% respectively. However, plasma-sprayed HAp coatings obtained from 600 and 900 °C calcined powders exhibited a crystallinity of 74
and 90% respectively. Interestingly, there was an increase in the crystallinity of the
coatings after plasma spraying.
