and Sumatera Island. The background of U-INSPIRE members varies from geoscientists, DRR specialists, engineers, environmentalists, planners, to media journalists, and artists. In terms of occupation, the majority of U-INSPIRE members are
employees (government officials, professionals at NGOs, international organizations, private institutions), students, lecturers/researchers, entrepreneurs, artists, and
freelancers. Regarding the collaboration activity, so far, U-INSPIRE has partnered
with 11 government institutions, 7 international agencies, 18 NGOs/CBOs, 4 private
sectors, and 3 media channels (Figs. 14.4 and 14.5).
14.5.5 National Policies on DRR and Youth
The role of the Government of Indonesia in disaster management has been mandated
in the country’s law and regulations. The Law No. 24/2007 on Disaster Management
states that coordinating the implementation of disaster management through a well
