(NJ) method showing the position of strain Achromobacter xylosoxidans A8 strain
got removed. The oven-dried filter paper along with residue was brought down to
room temperature and kept in desiccators for at least 15 min. The filter paper with
the residue was again weighed, and the difference between the two weighed readings
was taken for determining MLSS as follows:
MLSS(mq/l) =
[(A − B) ∗ 1000 ∗ 1000]
Volume of sample
where
A is the sample and filter weight (gm)
B is the weight of the filter (gm).
3.10.3 MLVSS (Mixed Liquor Volatile Suspended Solids)
At first, weight of an empty crucible was taken, and simultaneously, muffle furnace
was warmed up. The filter paper with the residue along with the crucible was kept
in muffle furnace at 550 °C and kept for 20 min and weighed again. The difference
between the two weighed readings was examined, and finally, the MLVSS value was
calculated.
MLVSS(mq/l) =
E(gm) ∗ 1000 ∗ 1000
Volume of sample(mL)
where E = {(A − B) − (C − D)} (gm) = amount of volatile solids,
