Upon addition of benzo-rings to the structure of TAP, structures of low-symmetry
Pcs can be generated. Kobayashi et al. synthesized a series of compounds (0Zn–4Zn
in Fig. 4.9) from phthalonitrile and maleonitrile by the lithium method (Miwa et al.
2004).
A single Q band of 0Zn (ZnTAP) and 4Zn (ZnPc) was observed at 637 and
677 nm, respectively. Corresponding to this Q band, the MCD spectra exhibited a
