17.2 Preparing the Hospital to Receive Contaminated
Patients
Some of the preparation for receiving contaminated patients should come before there
is an emergency; hospitals that anticipate caring for patients who are contaminated
with radioactivity, chemicals, or other hazardous materials should establish at least
one examination and treatment room suitable for receiving contaminated patients.
In particular, any room designed for use with contaminated patients should include
