Figure 8.12 shows a wind tunnel setup for the study of the transient process of
starting a supersonic nozzle. Using three 3-components sensors, whose outputs are
measured individually, the complete aerodynamic load acting at the virtual centre of
the balance is measured.
Therefore, the aerodynamic forces acting on the nozzle can be expressed as:
