Susanne Hanger- Kopp is a research scholar in the Risk and Resilience Program
at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. She received her
doctorate from ETH Zürich, where she works and teaches in the Climate
Policy Group. Her main expertise and interests are in the areas of climate
policy, decision making, and governance, with a focus on climate risk management and risk perception using soft systems approaches.
Cynthia Ismail is a researcher at PT Sustainability & Resilience (su- re.co), Bali,
Indonesia, since 2016 and has been involved in a number of collaborative
projects with EC, UNIDO, UNDP, and ADB. With a main focus on climate
change adaptation and mitigation, she contributed to bioenergy development
in East Java and Bali. She has worked on climate change scopes since 2012
and obtained an MSc degree in Management and Engineering of Environment and Energy from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Francis X. Johnson is a senior research fellow at the Stockholm office of SEI.
He conducts interdisciplinary energy/climate analyses, capacity building and
research, focusing especially on biomass energy in developing countries. He
has over 20 years of experience in economic and environmental analysis of
bioenergy, climate mitigation, and energy efficiency. Prior to joining SEI, he
was a senior research associate in the Energy Analysis programme at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA. He has served as an adviser or
expert for international initiatives run by UNIDO, FAO, the European Commission, and the Environment Committee of the European Parliament.
Oliver W. Johnson is a senior research fellow and Energy Cluster Leader at
SEI’s Asia Centre. He has over ten years’ professional experience in energy,
climate change, and international development. He has worked in Africa
and Asia, with extensive experience in Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya,
Ethiopia, Rwanda, Cambodia, and India. Oliver has been employed by a
diverse range of organisations, including international organisations, national
governments, community- based NGOs, development policy think tanks, and
academic institutions. His areas of work include energy access, energy sector
governance, low- carbon innovation, and climate change.
Eleni Kanellou is a PhD student at the Management & Decision Support
Systems Laboratory of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering,
the National Technical University of Athens. She has experience in stakeholder engagement and decision support systems for supporting energy policy
and planning. Her research interests include climate change and policy, sustainable business, and environmental planning.
Charikleia Karakosta is a chemical engineer holding a PhD in Decision
Support Systems Promoting the Effective Technology Transfer within the
Frame of Climate Change and an MSc in Energy Production and Management from NTUA. She has published more than 145 scientific publications
in prestigious international journals and books with numerous citations. For
