houses, 16 wooden houses and 27 corrugated iron houses. 60 of these homes were
damaged, 18 beyond repair, and the school and Catholic church, the only church
in the village were also badly damaged. In the aftermath of TC Winston, Tokou
was without electricity for six months (Mr Matareti Mateiwei, Conservation officer,
Lomaiviti Provincial Council, pers comm, 12.11.19) (Map 2).
