glycerol (3) into propene. A highly concentrated aqueous feedstock solution of 3
(90% vol.) was mixed with a stream of molecular hydrogen and fed to a fixed‑bed
reactor operated at 300 °C. Up to 90% propene selectivity and quantitative glycerol
conversion were obtained over a Fe/Mo heterogeneous catalyst supported on carbon.
