research, it has been developing the mixed microbes culture system, that has the
compatibility system on PGPR (LOB) substrates.
The final purposes of this LOB research are (1) to produce secure and safety
foods, (2) to establish sustainable land management system, and (3) to synergize
with farmer community and local government and industries (Fig. 9.1).
The innovation of PGPR inoculants and media formula for producing high
quality of LOB has an ID. Patent No. 000064813, 2019. One of Beyonic-LIPI
inoculants is LOB-Beyonic-StarTmik (LOB-BS), comprising 10 isolates from the
family of Burkholderia, Pseudomonas, three Bacillus, Pseudochrobactrum,
Ochrobactrum, Brevundimonas, Brevibacillus, and Microbacterium. However,
LOB-Beyonic-LIPI is upgrading day by day.
When LOB-BS is applied to the field, the seed (stock culture/starter) of LOB-BS
is cultured in a large tank in local areas with cheap nutritious organic substances
from the local market such as brown sugar, molasse, sprout, fish meal, cornmeal,
agar, egg, rock phosphate, and young coconut water (Fig. 9.2). To prepare fermentation broth (culture solution), these all row materials are boiled except egg and
young coconut water. The seed (stock culture/starter) of LOB-BS is inoculated into
the prepared fermentation broth with egg and young coconut water, afterwards it is
fermented for 21 days undersupplying aeration and agitation (about 40 rpm speed),
and the temperature control in tropical conditions is not necessary.

materials except egg and young coconut water; (c) PGPR inoculants for inoculation and fermentation; and (d) LOB-BS product
