The buildings and structures of the percolate treatment system are shown in
Table 5.110.
E. Percolate treatment results
In 2011, Shanghai Design Institute for Scientific Engineering has monitored and
analyzed the quality of the percolate from Operating Ares II, the outlet water from
the aerobic lagoon and the outlet water from the reed wetland, with the monitoring
results as listed in Table 5.111.
The landfill percolate is treated by the regulating tank, anaerobic tank, facultative
tank and aerobic tank, before being discharged into the East China Sea. 5 monitoring points are taken including the raw landfill percolate, regulating tank, aeration
tank, reed wetland and drain outlet. The monitoring results show that the pollutants
has reduced concentration, but are still high in the wastewater at the drain outlet,
with the COD cr , BOD 5 , NH 3 -N and suspended solids all in excess of the emission
limits provided in the Standard for Pollution Control on the Landfill Site of
Municipal Solid Waste (GB16889–2008).
The over-limit ratio of suspended solids was the highest, which was 91.67%; and
that of COD cr , BOD 5 and NH 3 –N were 58.33%, 41.67% and 33.33%, respectively.
Compared with 2010, both COD cr and NH 3 –N decreased and both BOD 5 and
suspended solids increased somewhat.
The maximum excess multiples of COD cr , BOD 5 , NH 3 –N and suspended solids
were 11.4, 4.43, 12.78 and 103.3, respectively. Compared with 2010, the maximum
excess multiples of BOD 5 and NH 3 –N in 2011 decreased to some extent, and that
for COD cr and suspended solids increased substantially, of which that of the suspended solids rose by the largest extent from 41.67 times in 2010 to 103.3 times.
