(5) Groundwater environmental monitoring
① Layout, sampling frequency and well structure of monitoring wells
I. Monitoring points:
A total of 6 groundwater monitoring wells are provided, as shown in Fig. 5.59. The
external view of the monitoring well at the typical site is shown in Fig. 5.60.
II. Sampling method:
A special small bucket shall be adopted for sampling. It is strictly prohibited to
pump water samples by a water pump. 2000 mL water shall be pumped for each
sample. The sampling amount and fixing method for special items are carried out
according to the requirements of the analysis method of the monitored items.
III. Sampling frequency:
a. The sampling frequency shall be at least once a month in the first year of
the operation of landfill site. Under normal circumstances, the sampling
frequency shall at least once a quarter;
b. If there is groundwater pollution, enhance sampling frequency and increase
monitoring items according to the actual situation to find out the causes for
remediation;
IV. Monitoring items: volatile phenols, hexavalent chromium, pH value, total
hardness, chloride, total dissolved solids, total escherichia coli, cyanide,
ammonia nitrogen, arsenic, cadmium, copper, mercury, nickel, lead, zinc, iron,
manganese, fluoride, nitrite, nitrate, sulfate, permanganate and other indicators.
