⑨ Waste fluorescent lamps
Waste fluorescent lamps are crushed under negative pressure to separate glass,
metal and fluorescent powder, and the mercury is recovered by distillation.
⑩ Others
The majority of other wastes have a certain calorific value (11,000–21,000 kJ/kg)
or are not suitable for other treatment methods from a safety and economic point of
view, such as organic solvent waste and dye coating waste, and therefore they shall
be treated by incineration.
(3) Basic information of security landfill site
The security landfill site is designed with rigid structure and a 128 m  60 m
12.5 m reinforced concrete sump. See Fig. 5.58 for the external view of the landfill
site. The landfill waste mainly consists of residual ash from the incineration system
of the disposal center; residue from each system of the disposal center; residual ash
from the Beijing Medical Waste Incineration and Disposal Plant; wastes directly
sent to the disposal center by the enterprises.
The security landfill site adopts the cement solidification technology to transform
toxic and harmful pollutants into substances with relatively stable physical and
chemical properties featuring low solubility, low mobility and low toxicity, effectively preventing leaching of various heavy metals (cadmium, chromium, copper,
lead, nickel, zinc, etc.). The security landfill site needs to solidify 7852.61 tons of
waste to be landfilled every year.
See Table 5.102 for the allowable control limits of hazardous wastes of the
landfill site.
