24.3 Future Prediction by the Part Agent
24.3.1 Expansion of the Life Cycle Model
A part agent predicts the future of a part by expanding the life cycle model specific
to the part along the time to select an appropriate life cycle path for its maintenance.
Figure 24.3 shows the life cycle model and Fig. 24.4 shows the expanded life cycle
model.
The life cycle model is composed of life cycle stages such as use, repair, disposal,
etc. and the life cycle paths that connect the life cycle stages; the part agent determines
an appropriate route by expanding the model along every route over time as shown in
