national park needs to have a unique protection strategy based on differences
in water availability.
3. Large spectrum of quantitative-qualitative changes in reservoirs of lentic waters
in Poland at their large numerical force identified with the multiplicity of
scenarios of their functioning and use, creates the possibility to predict the course
of degradation processes of limnic waters quality in the objects, which contemporarily function under incomparably smaller environment transformation and
to undertake the protection and recultivation activities.
4. Different actions should be taken to stimulate the development of irrigation
and drainage systems in Poland, to adapt the existing systems to extreme
meteorological events resulting from climate change, to enhance its operation,
maintenance and management.
5. Due to Poland’s water resources being very limited, and the possibility of them
falling further as a result of climate change, further protection of waters against
pollution is extremely important. Water quality can be improved by, among
others, increasing the number of sewage treatment plants and by improving the
performance of existing facilities.
6. Continuous monitoring of physical and chemical parameters of water shows
the dynamics of the observed indexes, not only seasonal changes but also daily
fluctuations. This improves the possibilities of the proper interpretation of the
obtained values and the speed of reaction to threats.
7. It is necessary to prove a general trend that models are more and more
often required by decision-makers in procedures related to water resources
management of the country.
8. Determining the activity in the catchment area, protecting the lakes and determining the method of their reclamation will allow to properly develop the
concept of protecting the waters of the West Pomeranian Lake District.
9. Monitoring the volume and quality of freshwater extraction, as well as safely
assessing the admissible volume of extracted water for all water management
areas will prevent the future degradation of groundwater resources through
salinity.
10. The improvement in the quality of groundwater in Poland is visible in the
comprehensive summary of quality classes concerning all water-bearing levels.
This state is necessary to keep in sustainable conditions.
11. Sustainable economic use of rivers requires extensive knowledge about the
dynamics of sediments and their quality within river basins. Measures are taken
to manage the sediment on an ongoing basis.
12. Building or modernization numerous wastewater treatment plants at mountain
lodges in Poland improve significantly the water and wastewater management
situation in Carpathian protected areas.
13. To combat eutrophication should take into account the resolution of the proper
organization of the monitoring of eutrophication, the developing of mathematical prognostic models of eutrophication for forecasting the eutrophication
development trends and its ecological, economic and social consequences, the
