development of an approach to assess the role of all the sources of nutrients
within the catchment area.
14. An understanding of the operating principles of analysed ecosystems makes
it possible to identify risks and threats to the environment, to water pollution.
Small river or lake catchments allows comprehensive research to be conducted
into the state of an environment subject to continuous changes from natural and
anthropogenic processes.
15. In the future the emphasis should be put on building sewerage infrastructure in
rural areas, but also on modernizing the existing infrastructure in urban areas.
16. The effective implementation of water policy in the city in the field of water
management and defining the terms of water resources consumption is important. Also detailed rules and conditions for the use of water resources in the
city in terms of planning, design, construction and technological solutions,
including ownership rights, controls and appropriate sanctions are regulated by
implementing regulations.
17. Environmental protection programs, studies of conditions and directions
of spatial development, local spatial development plans, river development
plans, small retention programs and projects, sectoral policies concerning
water resources and natural resources, and other development strategies for
metropolitan areas have to be used.
