by Tadajewski [17], Tadajewski, Kubiak [16, 17], Tadajewski and others [18]. In the
1970s, only 5 tanks showed poor fertility—mesotrophy (lakes: Miedwie, Morzycko,
Krzemie´ n, I´ nsko, and Zajezierze), two lakes (Jelenin and Wo´ swin) remained on the
borderline of β-mesotrophy and eutrophy [18].
In the second half of the 1990s, many publications about the hydrochemistry
of West Pomeranian lakes were published. Studies on the lakes of the Woli´ nski
National Park were published by Poleszczuk [86, 87], Tadajewski and others. [19]
and Kubiak [88], the susceptibility of these reservoirs to degradation was described
by Doli´ nski et al. [89]. Kubiak [90] determined the hydrochemical conditions of the
lakes of this national park based on many years of research. Systematic reports of
the PIO ´
S appeared on the state of the Westpomeranian Voivodeship. They contained
hydrochemical data for many lakes studied in accordance with the guidelines of lake
monitoring [91].
In later years, publications regarding the hydrochemical conditions of the lakes:
I´ nsko [92], Wo´ swin [93], D˛ abie [19], and Lake Chłop [25] were published. The
coastal lakes [22, 94, 95], river basins: Wołczenica [21], Płonia [96], and Rurzyca
[97] were described in the field of hydrochemistry and susceptibility to degradation.
Kubiak et al. [93] gave a hydrochemical description of the lakes of the Cedynia Landscape Park, a year later, the lakes of the I´ nski Landscape Park were described [98].
Changes in hydrochemical conditions in selected lakes of Western Pomerania (lake
I´ nsko, Morzycko, Chłop, Narost) for Kubiak’s other twenty years were presented by
[20]. Kubiak et al. [26] they undertook research on lakes around Szczecin.
Kubiak [99] presented the results of many years of research on changes in the
trophys of the group of the largest dimictic lakes of Western Pomerania. Such studies
in shorter periods were conducted in the Masurian Lake District [13, 14, 99]. Kubiak
[99] published a work on the level of trophies of coastal lakes of Western Pomerania,
and Tórz, Kubiak, and Chojnacki [100] presented an assessment of the quality of
Miedwie lake water for the period 1998–2001.
In 2009, work was undertaken to assess the degree of degradation and/or degree
of susceptibility to lakes and reservoirs demarcation, and to designate lakes and
reservoirs degraded as a result of improper use of their water resources, the use of
the catchment together with the assessment of technical and temporal possibilities to
restore them to good state. Permanent proposed measures to improve the condition
of lakes and reservoirs, as well as limitations in the use of their resources and use of
the basin, are possible under the conditions for water use. These activities were to
support the process of reconstruction of degraded lakes and reservoirs, as well as to
prevent possible deterioration of the reservoirs susceptible to degradation.
The works included the following activities: proposing a method for assessing the
degree of degradation and/ or the degree of susceptibility to degradation of lakes and
water reservoirs, identification of water bodies of lakes and water reservoirs, constituting uniform surface water bodies that were considered degraded and susceptible
to degradation together with determining the causes of degradation, determining
for each JCWP lakes and water reservoirs, identified as degraded or susceptible to
degradation, specific measures to improve the condition, specific conditions for using
