To ensure uniform distribution of nutrients and CO2, the culture was mixed using a spatula at
least three times a day. Furthermore, to sustain the spirulina culture and support its continuous
growth, a 2 ml of nutrient medium was added every 48 hours.
Spirulina was reseeded weekly in fresh K Marine culture medium to increase its volume. To
maintain proper conditions/concentration, the culture medium volume was adjusted to a 4:1
ratio if the spirulina was too concentrated and a 3:1 ratio if it was less concentrated.
