3 Everyday Activities in the Green World
(continued)
B: Carrying Out the Light Activity
1. Maintaining constant sunlight, cover the photovoltaic cells with a colored
transparency film piece. Redo with the other transparency film colors and
use only direct sunlight. Make a recording for the current generated for all
the colors that have been tested and the direct light in Table 3.1.
2. With only one photovoltaic within the circuit, shade 25% of the photovoltaic cell using a piece of paper and take a reading. Next, shade

and then the whole photovoltaic cell. Jot down the results in Table 3.2.

C: Connecting and Powering the PV
1. Connect the photovoltaic cells in series. Take a reading of what you
observe. Next, completely shade one cell and take a reading. Then cover
all the photovoltaic cells before taking another reading.
2. Make a parallel connection between the photovoltaic cells and observe the
reading. Completely shade one cell and record the reading. Cover all the
photovoltaic cells and record the reading.
3. Place the photovoltaic cells directly pointing at the sun. Determine the
angle using the protractor and slant the photovoltaic cells at 15 ◦ intervals.
Make a recording of the generated amps at each degree change.
