especially important when considering the developing world by allowing them to
develop in a way that reduces the financial burden on future generations.

10.3.2 Pillar 2: Social Development
This pillar takes a number of different components into consideration. The most
important is the encouragement of awareness, legislation, and protection in order to
promote people’s health. Additionally, it is a safeguard against the damaging effects
of pollution and other harmful or potentially future harmful activities that result
from the operations of businesses and other organizations.
In the developed world, such as Europe and North America, there are strict
legislations to ensure that society’s health and well-being is protected. The social
development pillar is also concerned with the maintenance of access to basic human
needs and resources without the overexploitation of nature. The final element is
education; encouraging people to participate in environmental sustainability by
teaching people about the effects of their actions on the environment, the effects
that protecting it can bring, and the consequences if we do not (Khoshnava et al.
2016).

10.3.3 Pillar 3: Environmental Protection
We all know what is required from our individual contributions to protect the
environment. Be it recycling, reduction of power consumption by switching off our
appliances, or walking short journeys instead of using the car. However, these are
personal choices and governments are reducing taxes on renewable energy source
imports to encourage the adoption of renewable power installation in homes.
Protection of the environment is the third and final pillar of sustainability, and
one that many people consider the most important for the future of the human
race. Environmental protection dictates how we should study our ecosystems, the
