how it puts it under stress. There is also a focus on the need for technology to help
drive a greener future, with the recognition that development in technology and
biotechnology will be the key to achieving this sustainable future (Khoshnava et al.
2016). This strategy must also plan on protecting the environment from the potential
damage that our technological advances may bring (Fig. 10.21).
Identify the major ecosystems on the planet. Using these ecosystems, explain
measures that can be used for protecting them.

The Green School in Bali has taken teaching to a whole new level. Located in
Indonesia, Green School provides holistic and green education in an amazing
environment (Macrory 2013). Its objective is to develop a generation of
citizens with knowledge and inspiration to be responsible for the planet’s
sustainability.
