Before the creative process started, the Coreguajes shared their culture, political
organization, connection with the territory and the development of the fabric to
develop the backpacks, which are their main craft available to the modern world.
This intercultural dialogue allowed the creation of related and collaborative spaces,
which started eco-design processes, designed to weave versatile garments, without
generating waste or decontextualizing the proper meaning of the raw material.
The creative synergy established between Religare and the Coreguaje community
creates a new symmetrical line where aesthetics, ethics, and exclusivity converge.
These characteristics typical of sustainable luxe are creating a new space for national
visibility and recognition of the cultural wealth and immaterial legacy inscribed in
craftsmanship as well as the Cumare’s participation in the fashion industry (Fig. 9).
The craftsmanship, explored under the concept of luxury, sophistication, and high
quality of materials and pieces, allows the creators to find new forms of exhibition,
responsibly exposing ancestral knowledge in the design and fashion industry.
The co-creation processes, carried out between Religare and the Coreguaje community, manage to integrate the knowledge and craftsmanship of indigenous peoples
