4 Development of the Standard System for Differentiated …
Belt conveyors should be adjusted in time during the operation when the following
phenomena happen, such as belt deviation and scattering of wastes to guarantee the
continuous and smooth operation.
Before the operation, rotary screens should be checked to ensure that there is no
material in the screen drum, the screen surface is unblocked, cutters are not twined
by sundries, motors and transmission devices are on good conditions, and rollers are
undamaged, deviated, or loosed.
During the operation, it needs to check and ensure that the materials are loaded
smoothly and the motors or bearings do not have excessive temperature rise.
Residual materials in the screen drum should be removed timely after the
accomplishment of the screening.
Once abnormalities are found, the machine should be turned off timely for maintenance. After clearing the fault, the machine should idle for 3–5 min before being
operated.
2. Composting sites
Facilities for dust prevention, deodorization, fly eradication, disinfection, and sewage
collection should be arranged in the composting sites. The ground in production
regions should be hardened. The allowable concentrations of odor gases, such as
hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, and ammonia need to accord with the regulations
in standard GBZ 1.
Phenomena including non-uniform material thickness and moisture content, and
material compaction that unfavorable for the fermentation and temperature rising
should be avoided.
The height of waste dumps for static-pile composting with natural ventilation
should be in the range of 1.2–1.5 m. The height can be increased to 2–3 m in the
case that ventilating ducts are set at the bottom of the dumps.
For forced-aeration static-pile composting, the air flow should be 0.05–0.20 Nm
3
per minute per cubic meter of wastes. The air volume should be adjusted in accordance
with the requirement of composting process.
The temperature change in the composting sites should be detected everyday.
The temperature monitoring points need to be set on different layers and regions
according to the temperature rising and change law.
The equipment and staff passages in each operation region of the composting sites
should be kept unimpeded.
3. Supporting facilities
Main operation parameters of wind blowers during operation such as air volume and
air pressure need to be recorded.
