The youngest surface ST-5 (Fig. 18) exhibits grains with fine polishing, (Fig. 18,
1c and 2a), conchoidal fractures and pitted appearance at some places because of
wind action on the exposed surfaces. The spacing of the fractures and angularities
of the surfaces are conspicuous.
The SEM microphotograph (Plate 9 NH 1a) from a sample taken from the base
of Norite hill indicates deep scouring on a polished surface. The length of the
scoured lineage is parallel indicating deep groves by the sub-glacial class. The
marking on the right hand corner shows appearance of the pitted nature which might
