Cement used in the present study is Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) of 53 grade confirming to IS 12269-1987. Natural,
irregular, free from organic impurities and partly angular coarse aggregate of 20 mm down size confirming to IS 383-2016 is
used in the experimental investigation of this present study. Locally available river sand confirming to Zone II quality of fine
aggregates passed through 4.75 mm sieve and retained on 75 micron sieve are used in the experimental investigation. The
physical characteristics of fine aggregate is shown in Table 12.3 and the sieve analysis result presented in Fig. 12.1.
In the manufacturing process of copper, black glassy granular slag material will develop as a by-product material during
smelting and copper conversion, shown in Fig. 12.2, that is called copper slag. The physical properties are tabulated in
Table 12.4. Sieve analyses of the copper slag samples are conducted and the results are shown in Fig. 12.3. Potable water is
used for both mixing concrete and also for curing in the present experimental investigation.
