the concept of rocket passenger aircraft and the idea of nuclear rocket; in
1953, he studied the possibility of interstellar flight; in 1962 s Introduction
to Interstellar Navigation, he put forward that a large jet engine aircraft was
used as the first stage vehicle. In the process of forming engineering cybernetics, Qian Xuesen took the engineering practice of designing stability and
guidance system as the main research object. In system science, he developed
the methodology of system science and open complex system (Fig. 8.46).
8.47 Lu Shijia (1911–1986)
Lu Shijia (1911–1986) is a famous hydrodynamist and educator in China.
She was the only female doctor of Prandtl who is the world’s master of
fluid mechanics. She had been engaged in research and teaching of aerodynamics and aeronautical engineering for a long time. She advocated the
research of vortex, separated flow, and turbulence structure. As one of the
founders of Beihang University, she founded China’s first aerodynamics major
and made contributions to the development of Chinese mechanics and the
cultivation of scientific and technological talents in the aviation industry. In
1952, Lu Shijia was the first director of the Aerodynamics Office of Beihang
and one of the main founders of the first aerodynamics major in China.
She made it clear that this major is an engineering specialty for aerospace
