construction, and its teaching plan should be formulated according to the
actual situation in China. She had always been teaching at the front line,
teaching theoretical aerodynamics, and other courses for students. Lu Shijia
had done a lot of work for the development of magnetohydrodynamics,
biological fluid mechanics, separated flow, and vortex motion. In the 1980s,
as the vice president of China Aerodynamics Research Association, she initiated and presided over the research on separation flow and vortex motion,
and held a national symposium. In 1958, she and other comrades built a
complete set of low-speed wind tunnel. At the same time, she actively participated in and organized the staff of the whole teaching office to design and
manufacture the supersonic wind tunnel and large mechanical six component
balance by themselves. In the 1980s, she also took an active interest in the
development of the branch of biological fluid mechanics. Considering the
important role of water tunnel experiment in the study of turbulence and
drag reduction, she supported middle-aged teachers to build the first water
tunnel of Beihang University. In the late 1970s, she retranslated the Introduction to Fluid Mechanics (7th edition of German version) written by the
famous German professor Plandtl, and made outstanding achievements for
China’s aviation industry (Fig. 8.47).
