Fig. 12.11 Land cover in the Upper Tisa Romanian Basin (data source Corine Land Cover 2012)
cially in the Maramures , ului Mountains) and in the upper part by coniferous forests
and alpine pastures that is literally basic altitudinal vegetation zoning.
Anthropic areas are located mostly on the three large collector aisles and on the
valleys of their tributaries, the latter offering those limited underwater stocks for
household use.
Arable lands are quite rare and cover mostly confluence areas, while orchards,
especially appletree ones, have a great extension, though scattered through other
forms of land use.
12.3 Water Resource
Water resources of technical use in the Upper Tisa basin are important in terms of
quantity, but there is the possibility of altering their condition in time, which can
render unavailable the stocks of social use [41] (S.T.W.B.A. 2010):
– surface water—250 mil. m
3
– groundwater—50–106 mil. m
3
The most important parameter which characterizes the rivers water resources
is the multiannual average stock, expressed as a drained volume or as river flow
(Table 12.1),
9 average specific runoff or average flow layer (Fig. 12.12, 12.13 and
12.14).
9 Records of R.W.N.A. (“Romanian Waters” National Administration—in Romanian).
