Fig. 11.2 The Siret River Basin—Main tributaries and their hydrometric stations
The hydrological activity of the Siret Water Basin Administration is carried out on
an area of 28,878 km
2 , managed by four subunits called Water Management Systems
(WMS), and each WMS has one or several hydrological stations subordinated to
it (Fig. 11.3). In their turn, the hydrological stations manage several hydrometric
stations.
The observations and measurements, as well as the hydrometeorological vigilance, which are undergoing within these hydrological stations, are complex and
numerous.
The data processing is finalized into hydrological yearbooks for:
• 131 hydrometric stations on rivers and small basins;
• 30 hydrometric stations for the water use;
• 15 hydrometric stations on reservoir lakes;
• 6 evaporimetric stations;
• 88 “villageellite” sections;
