– rehabilitation of 6 pumping stations;
– rehabilitation of 4 drinking water tanks.
So, old pipes of steel and asbestos cement were replaced by new pipes made
of high-density polyethylene (Fig. 6.6), glass fiber or ductile cast iron. Gradually,
as a result of network improvements and modernization, water quality increased,
pressure fluctuations at the consumer were reduced, and water losses decreased. But
beyond any doubt, full metering has had the biggest social and economic impact.
Immediately after the full metering, water consumption decreased sharply. This was
due mainly to the shift in human behavior, because the bills showed that water is
precious…
The payments of the external debt are made annually according to the reimbursement plan established by the Loan Agreement signed by the water company and the
EBRD. The payments are made from the royalties paid by the investment beneficiaries—the administrative-territorial units of Dej, Gherla, Huedin, Zal˘ au, Jibou, Cehu
Silvaniei and ¸
Simleu Silvaniei. The final term for repayment of the credit is 2019 [3]
