Dr. Yuzuru Kimochi completed his doctoral course in
the Department of Agricultural Science at the University
of Tsukuba, Japan, and received his Ph.D. with a
research theme on wastewater treatment technology
that can prevent global warming and eutrophication.
As a researcher at the Ibaraki Prefectural Science and
Technology Promotion Foundation, he conducted
research on wastewater treatment technology. He
became a researcher of the Waste Management Group
of the Center for Environmental Science in Saitama and
conducted research mainly on waste landfill final disposal technology. He became a researcher at the institute’s Water Environment Group and is currently a
senior researcher. In addition to wastewater treatment
technology, he is also undertaking research on biological research techniques that utilize environmental DNA
analysis, fish habitat conservation methods, and water
quality and environment improvement technology of
rivers, among others.

Dr. Kazuhito Murakami received his D.Sc. in Biology from Toho University, Japan. He was a researcher at
the Okayama Prefectural Institute for Environmental
Science and Public Health, and became a research associate of the Chiba Institute of Technology. He has been
undertaking study on microcosms and bio-eco engineering. Dr. Murakami also served as President of the Kanto
Branch of the Japan Society on Water Environment
(JSWE) and as Vice Secretary-General of the Kanto
Branch of the Japan Society of Civil Engineering
(JSCE).
