Preparation of Diet

Corn flour: 400 g.

Wheat bran: 200 g.
l
Milk powder: 200 g.
l
Yeast powder: 100 g.
l
Honey: 350 ml.
l
Glycerin: 350 ml.
Procedure
1. Add both honey and glycerol in the tray.
2. Add the ingredients like milk powder, wheat bran, corn flour,
and yeast powder and mix well.
3. Cover the diet containing tray with muslin cloth and keep at
25
C for 5 or 6 days before use.
4. Collect eggs from primary sources on tissue paper, place on the
surface of the diet (200 g) in the container with aeration.
5. Egg hatches into larvae (first instar), looks like a tiny thread-like
structure, colorless, and after 15 days, transform into second
instars.
6. Place the third instar larvae in a new container with diet to
undergo fourth and fifth stages.
