Dr. Alejandro Díaz Garay is the co-ordinator of the
Autonomous University of Guerrero’s MSc programme
“Sustainable Tourism Management”. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, which he obtained at
Mexico’s Autonomous Metropolitan University, a master’s degree in Social Sciences from the Autonomous
University of Guerrero and a PhD in Geography from
the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has
27 years of teaching experience in the field of social
sciences and his area of expertise lies in international
migration and sustainable tourism development. He has
published a number of high-quality journal articles,
edited 13 books and has also contributed to 24 book
chapters. Furthermore, he has completed several funded
research projects related to Mexico-US migration and
sustainable tourism development and acted as supervisor to many other projects. Currently, he is conducting a
project which explores various problematic issues that
occur when Acapulco becomes saturated due to elevated
demand during Mexico’s Easter, summer, and Christmas vacation periods.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rodica Ianole-Călin is Associate
Professor at the Faculty of Business and Administration,
University of Bucharest, Romania. She holds a PhD in
Behavioural Economics, a master’s degree in Economic
Cybernetics and Quantitative Economics and a
bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her professional training is complemented by multiple international courses, research stages, and summer schools
(the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Russia,
USA). Ianole-Călin’s teaching expertise covers Microeconomics, Data Analysis, Game Theory, and Behavioral
Economics, while her research interests include also
Complexity Economics and Agent-Based Modelling.
She currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Applied Behavioral Economics,
published by IGI Global, USA.
