temperate regions; at least three subspecies are distinguishable, although the limits of their distribution have yet to be determined
accurately. Southern Centoos breed on the Antarctic. Peninsula and the
southern islands of the Scotia Arc. The slightly larger Northern Gentoo
breeds in the Falkland Islands, on South Georgia, Staten Island and
