Quantitative biology of metabolism

The book is conserved with the application of various branches of systems theory such as (feedback) control theory, decision theory, game theory, automata theory etc, to the study of biological problems. Three salient features of the book are: 1) It includes the representative studies of the application of systems theory on various biological levels from sub-cellular to the central nervous system. 2) It contains the discussion of the applicability of systems theory in biology by a biochemist (Bradley), a biologist (Waterman), and a theoretician (Mestrovic). 3) It has several contributions dealing with the problem of modeling one and the same biological system (Adrenocortical Control System) using different approaches in order to illustrate the alternative ways of applying systems theory in biology.
