post-fixed in a 2% -OS04 solution for 1 h prior
to dehydration in a graded alcohol series:
50% for 30min, 70% for 30 min, 90% for
30 min, followed by three washings in 100%
alcohol for 30 min each.
Specimens were critical point-dried with
liquid CO 2 for 3-5 h. CO2 was changed every
hour. Specimens were then slowly brought to
a temperature of 50°C and a pressure of
50 atm. The pressure was gradually brought
back to normal within 30 min and specimens
were slowly cooled to ambient temperature.
The specimens were mounted on stubs with
adhesive tape and coated with gold palladium

for 3 min at a setting of 2.2 kV and 10 rnA of
the sputtering apparatus.
Since SEM preparations required a large
number of clean and intact specimens for
detailed taxonomic description, SEM tables
are lacking in some cases due to the paucity
of material.
2.4 Identification Cards
The presentation of the species follows the
taxonomic order proposed by Huys and
Boxshall (1991) and Razouls (1993), which is
