• Edges between complex nodes are represented through complex elements nested
into the element corresponding to the complex node from which the edge originates. The element corresponding to the node the edge points to is referred
through a suitable attribute in the element representing the edge.
• Edges between a complex node and an atomic (stream) node are not translated
into an XML element but are represented by nesting the atomic (stream node)
within the complex one.
• Compound labels are managed by introducing suitable subelements (i.e. nested
elements), as for representing VTs of nodes and edges.
